As Coordinator Visits DEPOWA National Headquarters
The President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs. Mernan Femi-Oluyede, has commended the Coordinator of the Defence Space Administration Officers’ Wives Association (DSAOWA), Mrs. Nkechi Ilodibia, who was represented by her Deputy, Mrs. Esther Laoye, for initiating impactful programmes and strategic outreach initiatives.
The commendation was given during a courtesy visit by the Coordinator and her entourage to the DEPOWA President on Wednesday, 29 April 2026, at the DEPOWA National Headquarters, Abuja. The visit forms part of ongoing engagements with DEPOWA Coordinators.
Mrs. Femi-Oluyede particularly applauded the Coordinator’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, highlighting the organisation of a medical outreach programme and the donation of essential medical equipment to the maternity ward of the General Hospital, Asokoro. She noted that such initiatives align with her vision as the 16th President of DEPOWA.
The President further encouraged the Coordinator to sustain people-centred programmes that improve the welfare of military families, particularly in the areas of mental health and drug abuse prevention. She also congratulated the Coordinator on her notable achievements within a short period in office and urged her to maintain the momentum, assuring her of continued support.
In her remarks, Mrs. Ilodibia, represented by Mrs. Esther Laoye, congratulated the DEPOWA President on her emergence as the 16th President of the Association. She reaffirmed the chapter’s loyalty and commitment to the President’s vision and strategic direction, while also seeking continued collaboration and support.
She further outlined the chapter’s planned activities for the year.
Highlights of the visit included an interactive session, signing of the visitors’ book, presentation of souvenirs, and group photographs.
